Conservative Columnist Hammers GOP As ‘Stupid-And-Proud-Of-It-Party’

Washington Post columnist Max Boot lamented the GOPs transformation into the stupid-and-proud-of-it party in his latest column published Monday.
When I was a Republican in the 1980s, the GOP prided itself on being the party of ideas. Under (former President Donald Trumps leadership, Republicans have reclaimed the reputation of being the stupid party, which dates back to the 1950s.

Even more striking is the fact that this was not a source for shame or embarrassment to the party's populists, he claimed.

Boot, who quit the GOP after Trumps takeover, named and shamed several Republican lawmakers (and sometimes their inane, sometimes dangerous comments) as evidence. This was from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greenes, R-Ga., Jewish space laser conspiracy theory, to Rep. Lauren Boeberts, R-Colo., ridiculous Imeach Biden gaffe.

He concluded that the GOP's dumbing down is not slowing down.
