Since the announcement about Stadia Games and Entertainment closing down and Jade Raymond, the studio head, was announced as leaving the company without releasing or announcing any games, it quickly became clear that this would mean Google shutting down Stadia. This is not to mention the implications for Stadia customers who bought games through its platform. These fears are not unfounded, considering Google frequently kills high-profile projects. Stadia will not be shutting down at this time, but you can rest assured. Google has not decided to develop games but has dedicated Stadia engineers. The cloud gaming platform will continue to host third party games developed by developers who have partnered. This news will determine how game studios respond to it. We hope that this will not stop third-party games from coming to Stadia. Stadia Games' demise shows that Google is not committed to hardware. This could mean that Stadia could cease to be a consumer-based platform, and customers would lose access to cloud games they have purchased. It's likely that Stadia will shut down and you will lose access to your games. You'll have to purchase them again. Before you lose your access, you can still download and save playtime statistics and screenshots from your Stadia games. The game you are playing will determine whether your campaign can be transferred to another version on Steam, GOG or somewhere else. Bungie supports cross-save cloud-based for Destiny 2 and Ubisoft+ allows you to save your data in the cloud. However, you will need to create an account with the developer and pay a fee. However, this functionality is only available for Stadia. After the controller is plugged in, it will need to be recognized by the service. To allow Steam client to recognize the controller, you will need to enable Big Picture Mode. Next, choose a controller configuration and map buttons for the controller to make it work. The Stadia controller works on other platforms but the Stadia-specific buttons (Google Assistant, Share button) will not work. Users also report that the rumble function doesn't work with non-Stadia titles. Stadia: Supported devices

Stadia relies entirely on the internet so you will need an excellent connection to be able to play. Your experience will be better if you have a good internet connection. To test your internet speed, you can use the official Stadia speed test. Google recommends that you have speeds at least 10 Mbps. You can play 720p at 60 frames per second with stereo audio. You can play 1080p at 20 Mbps with HDR and 5.1 surround sound. Only a TV that supports HDMI eARC connections can produce surround sound. Google recommends a minimum of 35 Mbps for Stadia gaming and crisp 4K content. You have two options to access it: stream to a 4K television using a Chromecast Ultra, compatible Android TV device or stream on stadia.com if you support VP9 hardware decoding. For consistent speeds, you will need an ethernet connection in either case. This is something you should keep in mind when using Stadia for your daily gaming needs. Even if your internet plan supports 4K gaming, it may not allow you to stream for extended periods of time. Google estimates that 4K gaming consumes 20 GB/hour while 1080p games can use up to 12.6GB/hour. You will only use half your monthly data limit if you play 4K games for less than an hour each day. If you are a serious gamer who uses Stadia often, you might need to upgrade to an unlimited internet package. Stadia: Exclusive Features

Stadia was created in the age of social media and YouTube streamers. It has some unique tools that make sharing your gaming moments easier. To start, you can instantly save screenshots and video clips to your Stadia controller's share button. These can then be uploaded to YouTube or downloaded. Stadia is much easier than other consoles, which makes it easier to upload your saved footage. Google introduced Crowd Play, a new feature specifically for streamers. A YouTuber can instantly allow their viewers to jump in to a Stadia game by clicking a button at the end of a live stream. A button will appear on a trailer for an Assassin's Creed Odyssey game that allows you to jump into the game instantly and begin playing within five seconds. Crowd Play is currently in closed beta. It supports a limited number of games. State Share is the most dynamic feature of Stadia. This feature allows you to capture gameplay moments and then send a link to your friends or followers that instantly transports them back to the exact same difficulty settings, loadout, etc. You can share a secret level or place yourself in an impossible situation to challenge others. Hitman 3 is the first Stadia game to use State Share, but more Stadia games will soon add this feature. Stadia: Competitors

Although Amazon Luna is still in beta and only available in the United States of America, Amazon Luna vs. Google Stadia represents a real battle between tech giants who are just getting into the gaming market. Luna offers a more extensive 100+ game collection for a monthly subscription than Stadia Pro (30). It streams only in 1080p and you can't purchase any games until they're removed. This makes it difficult to know what will happen to your save data. It is available for PC, Mac (via web app), some Android and iOS smartphones, all Fire TV devices, Fire tablets, Chromebooks, and any Fire tablet. Nvidia GeForce Now and Google Stadia are two fully-fledged cloud gaming platforms. GeForce Now, a free service that allows you to stream your games on Steam and not have to purchase them again if they were made available by Nvidia. Although it is less expensive than the monthly cost, it can often sell out and you will have to pay six months in advance. You also have a wider selection of compatible games, but it only has a maximum resolution of 2K. You also have Xbox Game Pass Streaming and Google Stadia. Game Pass was originally launched on Xbox. However, it can now be streamed from your Android phone, tablet, web browser or iOS browser. It costs more than Stadia per monthly and has over 100 games in its library including well-known Microsoft titles such as Halo: Master Chief Collection and Gears 5.
