New trailers: Eternals, Welcome to Earth, The Girl in the Woods, and more

We saw the huge heel turn that was hinted at throughout the season and some major moments for two couples on the show, making Ted Lasso's penultimate episode very stressful (at least for me). It's unclear how they will end it all in the finale. I believe we are headed for a cliffhanger at least on one front.
It's a great problem to have streaming, there is so much good.

Here's the trailer roundup for this week:

Eternals

The brand new trailer for Marvels Eternals features some of the action sequences that we have seen in previous teasers/trailers. It also gives us a first glimpse at Brian Tyree Henry's Phastos and his husband, who are apparently the first queer couple to appear on the big-screen (h/t Gizmodo). Let's recap: The Eternals, mega-hero guardians who are eager to help humanity, have decided that now is the right time. Eternals will be in theaters November 5th, starring Gemma Chan and Angelina Jolie as well as Salma Hayek and Kumail Nanjiani.

Welcome to Earth

Will Smith begins this trailer by confessing that he has never climbed a mountain nor swum in the water. He is beginning to wonder if he might be missing some thing. National Geographic's Welcome to Earth series features six episodes. It has stunning location photography and follows Smith as he travels around the globe to discover new places. It will be available on Disney Plus in December.

Sexy Beasts

This ... unusual dating show where people wear elaborate animal/monster/creature costumes and makeup to hide their looks from potential suitors so they can be judged only on their personalities is back for a second season for some reason. This trailer is full of weirdness. It uses quotes from reviews such as "A sign of the end Times and the stuff of nightmares" which begs the question, "Do we really need another season?" Netflix clearly believed so. Season 2 of Sexy Beasts premieres on October 7th.

The Girl in the Woods

In the Pacific Northwest, a girl escapes from a group of mysterious people living behind a wooded door and protecting the world from evil. Krysten Ritter was commissioned to direct a few episodes of the series. It stars Stefanie Scott and Misha Osherovich as well as Sofia Bryant Will Yun Lee, Reed Diamond, Leonard Roberts, and Reed Diamond. Peacock will host The Girl In The Woods on October 21st.

The harder they fall, the more difficult.

This western about rival outlaw gangs was teased back in June. Here's the trailer and release date for The Harder They Fall. We learn a bit more about Nat Love, and how he is pursuing Rufus Buck (literally). Rufus Buck just broke free from a train car that held him captive. The Harder They Fall will be available on Netflix November 3rd. It stars Jonathan Majors, Zazie Betetz, IdrisElba, Delroy Lindsayo, Damon Wayans Jr., Regina King, and Idris Elba.
