Andrew Wiggins received COVID-19 vaccine, can play in Golden State Warriors' home games

SAN FRANCISCO -- Andrew Wiggins, the Golden State Warriors' swingman, has received a COVID-19 vaccine and is now eligible to play in home matches this season. Following Sunday's practice, Warriors coach Steve Kerr made the announcement.
Kerr stated that Andrew was vaccinated. "He told me today that he was okay with us acknowledging it, and that that will be it. "I'm not going beyond that to answer any further questions."

Due to the San Francisco Dept. restrictions, Wiggins' vaccination status was in question before the training camp. The Department of Public Health recently announced that everyone 12 years old and older must be vaccinated in order to participate indoor events. Wiggins brought the topic to even greater attention during Warriors media day on Monday, stating that it was his problem to deal with, and not reporters, because it related to lost earnings. He said that it was his problem. "Not yours."

Wiggins requested a religious exemption from the NBA, but the league declined. Kerr and the Warriors declined to provide any further details about Wiggins' decision or the type of shot he received. However, all indications point to Wiggins receiving a Johnson and Johnson shot. Many players, coaches, and staffers were given the shot months ago. In Wiggins case, this means that he won't have to miss any regular season games to get a second shot.

San Francisco Department. The San Francisco Department. Wiggins would not be required to miss practice or games if he did get the Johnson & Johnson shot.

Kerr stated, "I'm no answering any of these questions," after noting that Warriors coaches and players were now 100% vaccinated or, in Wiggins' instance, on the verge to become fully vaccinated. "We're done. It has happened. This is all anyone needs to know. You can also talk about games or practice.

Kerr stated that Wiggins, Stephen Curry, and Draymond green would all be playing in Monday's preseason opening against the Portland Trail Blazers. Kerr is hopeful that his starters will play around 20 minutes, although the exact minutes are not known.
