SNL Uses Star Trek and Owen Wilson to Drag Jeff Bezos

Star Treks are pretty cool, at least for the most part. Although it sounds like a great idea, we might not be able to travel to space or explore the stars. Unless you're Jeff Bezos. A Saturday Night Live sketch shows us how disappointing it is that the elite get to experience space.

Last night's premiere featured Owen Wilson as its first guest for the 47th season. A sketch in which Marvels Loki's star took on the role Amazons ex-CEO Jeff Bezos was also included. Star Trek: Ego Quest features Bezos as the cowboy-hat-wearing captain on the SS New Shipment. Bezos is accompanied by his younger brother Mark, the Dutch astronaut Wally Funk, 18-year old Oliver Daemon and Oliver Daemon (18 years). Bezos' space flight in July was joined by all three of them. The narrator intones that their mission is to fly around space giggling off... in a ship that looks like an iris.

It's a Star Trek sketch and it's quite funny. Wilson is able to be silly in a way that he hasnt seen in a while as Bezos plays around with Richard Branson, and the couple casually show off their wealth by flying into space stations. The best part of the film is Elon Musk's (Mikey Day), and his SpaceX ship. It is quite haunting to see the strange twitch Musk displays when he laughs.

Wilson's Amazon-related sketch may be too bizarre for its own good. He and his friends attempt to split their checks evenly. As Wilson's orders grow more and more complicated, the situation takes a sharp turn when Nazis are brought into play. Although it's meant to be a joke about Amazon Primes TV shows, the punchline is a bit too long. It's basically a standard SNL sketch.

Wilson's Star Trek sketch is still a great choice. Prodigy, the first children's show in the series, will be available on Paramount+ at the end of October 28th. Discovery will be back for its fourth season the following month, on November 18. Star Trek's two other major shows, Strange New Worlds (also known as Picard), will both be available in 2022.
