Sources told ESPN that Demetrius Andrade has reached an agreement with Jason Quigley for a fight for the middleweight title. The fight will be headlined by a DAZN-streamed championship tripleheader, which will take place in New England on Nov. 19.
Sources said Murodjon Akhmadaliev will defend the unified 122-pound title against Ronny Rios in this co-feature. Julio Cesar Martinez will defend his 112-pound title against McWilliams, sources said.
The three fights will pit champions promoted in Matchroom Sport by Eddie Hearn against those who are affiliated with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions. Sources say it will take place in New England, although the promotions are yet to secure a card site.
Andrade (30-0-18 KOs), ESPN's No. Andrade (30-0, 18 KOs), ESPN's No. 3 boxer at 160 lbs, won the fourth defense of his title with unanimous decision victory over Liam Williams. Although the 33-year old from Providence, Rhode Island has been dominant throughout his reign as 160-pound champion, he has not faced a formidable opponent. This bout will not change that.
The smooth southpaw will be a strong favorite to defeat Quigley (19-1-14 KOs), who is a tough fighter just coming off his biggest win. In May, the 30-year-old Irishman defeated Shane Mosley Jr. by a majority decision and will now move up to the elite level.
The two other title bouts are far more competitive.
ESPN's No. 1 boxer is Akhmadaliev, a 26 year-old Uzbekistanian. 1 boxer at 122 pounds. He defeated Ryosuke Itwasa to win the unified title.
Akhmadaliev, a bronze medalist at the Olympics, is one of the most promising young boxers.
He is expected to face a tough challenge in Rios (33-3 and 16 KOs). ESPN's No.1 ranked the 31-year old from Southern California. 8 junior featherweight. Rios has won four consecutive victories since his defeat to Azat Hovhannisyan, in the sixth round, in February 2018. Most recently, Rios outpointed Oscar Negrete in February.
Martinez, ESPN's No. Martinez, ESPN's No. 1 flyweight has racked up 112 pounds of victory under the direction of Eddy Reynoso, reigning trainer. The 26-year old Mexican is coming off a sixth round TKO of Joel Cordova and Martinez (18-1,14 KOs) are on the verge of being ranked pound-for-pound.
Arroyo (21-1-4, 16 KOs), a Puerto Rican 35-year-old who has faced some the most talented fighters in the sport. There were also defeats to Roman Gonzalez, Kazuto Ioka and others. Since the defeat to Ioka, he has won four consecutive fights. His latest victory was a TKO win over Abraham Rodriguez in February.
DAZN will be on ESPN+ PPV one day before Terence Crawford & Shawn Porter face off for the welterweight title.
