Apple will hold its second event of fall within the next month. It will unveil new MacBook Pros with an Apple silicon chip faster than "M1X", a revised design and better display technology, according Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
Apple held its Mac event last year in November. In the past, however, Mac events have been held in October. It's not clear if Apple will keep its October or November timeframe this year.
Gurman stated that the company will announce M1X-powered MacBook Pros within the month. He also noted that Apple typically introduces its major new Macs in October. Keep checking back. Gurman reiterated in the newsletter's paywalled section what performance we can expect from the new machines.
The Apple M1X chip is the likely name for a more graphics intensive and professional-focused M1X chip. It will be available in 2021. It will likely be featured in a new range MacBook Pros within the next month, and possibly a Mac mini with a higher price. There are two versions of the M1X: one with either 16 or 32 graphics cores and both with 10 CPU cores (8 high-performance and 2 high-efficiency).
According to previous reports, Apple could also unveil a new Mac mini alongside its new MacBook Pros. Apple announced last month the iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7 and sixth-generation iPad mini. Rumours also suggest that Apple will release third-generation AirPods by the end of the year.
