Chucky's New Trailer Is a Bloody Homecoming

With its debut TV series, Childs Play is taking the franchise to the small screen. After the seventh film Cult of Chucky's 7th, Chucky sees the murder-happy doll continuing his reign of terror. Jake Wheeler, a gay teenager, buys the Good Guy doll from a yard sale. Things quickly go south as usual in this situation: Very, Very Poor.

Chucky is back with Brad Dourif, and the story has a poignancy because it takes place in Hackensack, New Jersey, where the serial killer lives. It would be more poignant if he did not have a plan for Hackensack, New Jersey. One that involved Jennifer Tillys Tiffany Valentine. Tiffany Valentine is his girlfriend and she managed to get her soul back inside her body. This is probably due to the fact that it is Halloween and that the town is notorious for violent spikes on the holiday. Maybe there is a connection between Jake and Chucky, who Jake bought for his mother's funeral.

Don Mancini, the original creator of Childs Play, is at the helm so there's no reason to worry about Chucky feeling disconnected from the rest of the cast, which doesn't acknowledge the 2019 remake. It remains to be seen what happens to the franchise after the show's first season. Mancinis has been open about wanting the franchise to continue with films. It will be interesting to see where the show takes us before we get those films back up.

On October 12, Chucky will premiere on Syfy and USA. Mancini and Tilly will host a panel at New York Comic-Con where they'll be presenting the first episode in all its goofy, bloody glory.
