DC will give away free superhero NFTs to people who register for its FanDome event

DC will give away non-fungible tokens of its superhero comic book covers free to anyone who registers for the October 16th FanDome. The DC NFT Drop the First is October 5th. Fans who register for FanDome will be eligible to receive one random-selected NFT and a second NFT if their first is shared on social media.
There will be three levels of rarity for the NFTs: common, rare, or legendary. These options will include Batman, Superman and Green Lantern as well as Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn.

What is an NFT? You can buy and sell unique digital items, and track who is the owner using blockchain technology. NFT is an acronym for non-fungible token. It can contain any digital item, such as drawings, animated GIFs and songs. An NFT could be unique, such as a painting or trading card. The blockchain tracks who owns the file. Recent headlines have focused on NFTs, which can be sold for millions of dollars. High-profile memes such as Nyan Cat's deal with it sunglasses and Nyan Cat are both up for auction. NFTs are also making headlines due to their huge electricity consumption and negative environmental impact. You can also read our FAQ about NFTs if you have any questions.

According to a news release, DC is working with Palm NFT Studio on NFTs. Palm NFT Studio was chosen by DC for its environmentally-sustainable and energy-efficient technology. This allowed the company to mint millions of NFTs at almost no cost. The companies have not yet revealed how many comic-book covers NFTs they are planning. DCs Jim Lee stated that this drop is a tribute to our 87-year history and envisions a future where NFTs will play a fundamental role in new ways of interfacing with DC content and unlocking unique experiences.
