After scoring the Premier League's opening goal, Leeds had already lost two of their previous matches.
Leeds won the Premier League's first ever victory this season when Diego Llorente, defender, returned to full fitness and beat Watford.
After a corner ball bounced off Watford's Juraj Kucka at Watford's back post, Llorente suffered a hamstring injury and instinctively hit it in from close range.
This was the final act of a dominating first-half Leeds display, but their failure to seize their opportunities made for a nervy end.
Watford were slow in possession and passive for most of the game. In the second half, a goal was ruled out for a foul during the build-up to Illan Meslier's goalkeeper mistake.
However, Leeds won comfortably despite the scoreline and Elland Road was left with three points, their first win of the season.
Leeds was the winner despite all the Ruthlessness
Illan Meslier's fumble was rebuffed by Liam Cooper, and it went in before Christian Kabasele received a penalty for a foul during the build-up to Watford’s disallowed goal
Leeds could have scored a few goals at half-time.
Stuart Dallas had many big chances to score. Ben Foster saved Stuart Foster's life early on. The Watford goalkeeper reacted quickly to poke away the rebound of Daniel James.
Mateusz Klich whipped him up a moment later, and he fired over the bar. In the second half, he fired another shot from an unmarked spot on the box's edge into the stands.
Watford's ineptness in possession was often the reason Dallas had chances. Kiko Femenia, Ismaila Sharr were among those who gave away the ball within their own half.
Ironically, Watford's best chance fell to Ozan Tufan after Leeds lost possession of the area. But he got it over the bar.
Marcelo Bielsa will be concerned about their lack of ruthlessness, but Leeds was dominant throughout, and Raphinha, Dallas, and Jamie Shackleton all impressed individually.
Tyler Roberts, Substitute Tyler Roberts nearly completed the feat when he struck the crossbar late in the game. It was disappointing for Watford who was made worse by Joshua King's injury at half-time.
