Turkish man reported missing joins search party seeking him

ANKARA (Turkey) A Turkish man joined a search team for a missing person, not realizing that the person being followed was him.
Beyhan Mutlu (51), went out with a friend to drink in a forest near Inegol in northwest Turkey late Tuesday. After he failed to return home, his wife reported him missing. She heard that he had left behind a friend and was drunk.

Mutlu had been sleeping in a forest house when rescue and gendarmerie teams were called to help, Turkish online news portal T24 reported Friday.

He met members of the search party and decided to assist them in finding the missing person. When they started calling his name, he realized that he was the center of the search.

After some time, they told me they were looking for Beyhan Mukullu, which T24 quoted as saying. When I heard my name, I felt cold and shivered.

"They continued to search for me, even though I said I was Beyhan Mutlu," Mutlu continued. "They didn't believe me. My friend Mesut saw me and realized the truth.

Mutlu claimed that he was part the search team for over half an hour.
