According to a New York Post report, Katie Couric, a veteran news anchor, said in her memoir that she "heard the whispers” about allegations of sexual misconduct against Matt Lauer.

According to the Post, Couric provided details in her memoir "Going There" about Lauer, who was fired by NBC's "Today” show in November 2017. She had been accused of sexual misconduct.

Couric stated in the book that Lauer said that sometimes women came to his office "crying" and that he was afraid of them if they sat next him on the couch. According to the New York Post, Couric also claimed that Lauer told them that Lauer would not allow them to put their arm around each other.

Couric stated that she had told Lauer to not touch the women.

Couric's book also mentions Lauer's comments about the MeToo movement, which would eventually bring him down.

Lauer said that "This MeToo stuff feels a bit out of control." "It feels like a witch hunting."
