Singapore Airlines Business Class flew a dog from Sydney to Europe via Singapore. Greyt Greys Rescue in Melbourne trained Lewis, an ex-racing greyhound. His owner then moved to Italy. The Australian government granted her permission to leave. Because so few people do, her Singapore Airlines flights were nearly empty.
The dog was seated in business class row one. He even enjoyed a birthday celebration on the plane with cake and treats.
Lewis, one of our graduate snoots has begun a new chapter. Lewis and his mother moved to Italy last weekend. Amazingly, Lewis was able fly in the same cabin as his mum. Lewis' mum saved a lot of money for a Business Class Singapore Airlines flight. Because the plane was nearly empty, they let Lewis fly in the cabin. Lewis was at ease and did not have to worry about anything during the flight. There was no crying or accidents. He was described by the flight crew as one of their best dogs, even though he is fully trained and service dog certified. Lewis was completely spoiled by his staff when he celebrated his birthday aboard the plane.
It is likely that the first well-known emotional support animal was the pig that flew cross-country in US Airways first class 21 year ago. There is no claim for disability here. The cabin was not fully purchased to be used as a falcon zoo. This woman's best friend provided something for all the Singapore Airlines crew, and also gave them something to do.
