‘You can’t sue your way to the moon’: Elon Musk intensifies Bezos space feud

Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos intensified their feud over lawsuits, rocket sizes, and space rival Jeff Bezos this Week. This is the latest round of the billionaire fight over humanity's return to the Moon.
SpaceX founder and winner of a contract by Nasa in April to build the next-generation spacecraft that will take astronauts to the Moon's surface, Bezos took aim at Bezos after suing the US government for losing the deal.

Musk stated that you cannot sue your own way to the Moon no matter how skilled your lawyers, during an interview at the Code conference with Kara Swisher.

After Musks SpaceX received a $2.9bn contract for a moon lander, Bezos Blue Origin sued Nasa. Amazon, which was founded by Bezos in August, filed a complaint to the Federal Communications Commission (FEC), urging the regulator not to reject SpaceX's plans to expand its satellite constellation for its satellite broadband internet venture.

Amazon is currently working on Project Kuiper, its own satellite internet.

Musk stated at Code that he had not spoken with Bezos verbally about the legal battles but had sent subtweets.

Amazon claimed that SpaceX has a long history of sueing the US government. It released a 13-page list of lawsuits and petitions as well as other legal actions SpaceX filed over the years to The Verge.

Amazon stated in a statement that it is difficult for them to reconcile their historical records with their position on similar actions filed by others, according to CNBC.

39 lawsuits were included in the document that was shared with Verge. They date back to 2004, when Musk's startup was still flourishing.

Musk quickly responded on Twitter and said: SpaceX has sued for being *allowed* compete, BO is suing stop competition

At the conference in LA, Musk made a joke about how the billionaire race for space took a surreal turn when he suggested that the Amazon founders' rocket might be of a different form.

Swisher asked Musk to explain the shape from a technological perspective.

He said that if you're only doing suborbital, your rocket can be smaller.

Musk said that he would send Bezos a huge statue of the number 2, along with a medal, to celebrate his achievement as the world's richest person. It was worth $200.7 billion.

Welp, @karaswisher really stirred the pot by asking Elon what he thought of Jeff Bezos’s rocket. She said that they all made fun of each others' rockets. Musk: "Well it could be a completely different shape ..." KariPaul (@kari_paul September 28, 2021

Bezos Blue Origin will make a decision about the lawsuit regarding the lunar lander in November. SpaceX has been halted by Nasa until then.
