England manager Gareth Southgate has named Fikayo Tomori, Ollie Watkins, and Aaron Ramsdale as his World Cup qualifying squad against Andorra.

Phil Foden, Manchester City's midfielder, also returns to the field after suffering a foot injury.

Right-back Trent Alexander Arnold and Harry Maguire, the Defender, are both out of action.

England will travel to Andorra Saturday, 9 Oct., and host Hungary Tuesday, 12 Oct.

With 16 points from six games, the Three Lions lead Group I.

Tomori form impresses Southgate

Right: Tomori (right), had a successful loan spell with AC Milan last season, before joining permanently in summer

The centre-back Tomori moved from Chelsea to AC Milan this summer. He last played for England in November 2019, when he won his only international cap.

The 23-year old had a successful loan spell at the Italian side towards end of last season, before moving permanently and has been a key player for club.

Southgate stated that he was playing for a club with an expectation of winning every week so he is performing under pressure.

Fikayo's aggressiveness as a defensive defender is what I like about him. He's quick and confident enough to defend the front foot. His use of the ball is also improving.

Maguire, Manchester United's full-back, has suffered a calf injury. Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool's full-back has a groin problem.

Watkins, the Aston Villa striker, makes his first return since being dropped from Southgate's provisional Euro 2020 squad this summer.

Ramsdale's first cap

After being drafted in after Dean Henderson's injury, Arsenal goalkeeper Ramsdale was part the team that reached the final. He is still waiting for his first England cap. He replaces Burnley's Nick Pope.

Southgate said, "Aaron was with our summer and we had an opportunity to work for a long period with him and get to know his strengths."

"Nick [Pope] still I think is coming back from injury a bit, but I think Aaron just is in a better vein at the moment.

Aaron sees the move to a larger club with higher expectations. He is being asked to play with his feet and not from the back. It's working out really well for him."

Bellingham and Greenwood are left out

Despite being in excellent form at club level, Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham (Manchester United) and Manchester United's Mason Greenwood were not included.

Southgate said, "I've spoken with both of them,"

Jude is currently playing high-level matches with Champions League and league games.

He was 18 years old when he played a full season, then he went on to the Euros without any breaks. These young players are still in physical growth so we need to be careful when talking about their development.

"These two players are exciting for England's future. We don't want them to be overwhelmed, but we want to make sure they are making the right choices.
