Loughlin, along with Mossimo Giannulli, was implicated in the scandal of college bribery. She was also convicted for mail fraud. Loughlin, who was sentenced to up to 50 years in prison for the crime she committed, is currently on probation. Loughlin was recently granted permission by a Boston federal judge for her to travel to Canada to film When Hope Calls. The two-part premiere, entitled When Hope Calls: a Country Christmas, will air Dec. 18.

Loughlin was originally supposed to play Stanton in the sixth season. But, due to the scandal surrounding college admissions, Loughlin was cut completely from the final episodes of the season.

Brookfield is a fictional town in the west-estern prairie called Brookfield in When Hope Calls, which is filmed in Ontario, Canada. Deadline reports that Brookfield is one of three candidates in Harpers Bazaar's search for America's #1 Country Christmas Town. While the entire town is focused on creating the essence and spirit of Christmas for photojournalists, the residents behind the scenes are not living the spirit. A stagecoach arrives, carrying Abigail Stanton's son Cody and a troubled boy to Lillians Orphanage. This is a Hallmark spinoff.

Olivia Jade, Loughlin's daughter, was involved in Operation Varsity Blues. She is currently dancing on Dancing With The Stars.
