Timothée Chalamet's Wonka Prequel Just Bagged a Factory-Load of Stars

Warner Bros. doesn't need a golden ticket. Warner Bros. is moving forward with the origin story of Roald Dahl's marvellous confectionary king, Wonka. The studio celebrates the start of production by casting half of England.

Warner Bros. today released a press release announcing that Wonka production in the UK has started. The script was written by Paul King and Simon Farnaby, the latest draft in a long list of drafts from Simon Rich, Simon Stephenson and Jeff Nathanson.

Deep breathMr. will also be in the film. Deep breathMr. will also be in the film. The other half of this cast includes a Paddington reunion. Farnaby is not the only one who returns to Wonka. Other than that, Tom Davis, The Shape of Waters Sally Hawkins and Kobna Heldbrook-Smith are all fuzzy bear alumni. There are many connections beyond the screen: Behind the camera, editor Mark Everson, costume designer Lindy Hinging, and director of photography Seamus Mcgarvey return from Paddington films. Original songs were provided by Neil Hannon, Divine Comedys.

Maybe they should have just brought Paddington along with them, but there might be enough going on in Wonkas future factories to not need him. He would prefer chocolate to marmalade. Wonka will be released in theaters on March 17, 2023.
