iOS 15 was released last Wednesday with many new features. However, one change is still proving to be a nuisance to users.
Users who don't want to use the Siri Remote to input text on the Apple TV can use an iPad or nearby iPhone to type. When a text box appears on Apple TV, a notification is displayed on the iPhone/iPad. After tapping the notification, users will be able to use the iPhone/iPad's on-screen keyboard to type text on the Apple TV.
The problem is that iOS 15 or iPadOS 15 do not offer an option to disable Apple TV keyboard notifications despite Apple advertising it in its tvOS 15 user guide. There was an option to turn off notifications on iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 devices. This switch could be found in Settings > Notifications> Apple TV Keyboard.
Users have complained about the inability to disable notifications from Apple TV's keyboard. We reached out to Apple in an effort to find out if they will reconsider introducing the toggle switch in future software updates. If we hear back, we'll update the story.
