Yes, it's possible. Drop, a tech retailer, has teamed up to create this adorable keyboard called The Key. It is programmed to copy and paste.
The product was originally created as an April Fools Day joke. Stack Overflow users were notified that they only had a certain number of copy / pasts. They could only increase that limit by purchasing The Key. Users were disappointed to learn that The Key wasn't a real thing they can buy, according to Stack Overflows blog posts.
You can order it right now. Drops offers it for preorder for $29. According to the company, the next batch will ship on December 13th.
You can see that we have three buttons. C and V are the buttons. I'm not sure what the third button does. It's okay, though, because the keys can be programmed to accomplish any task you wish.
An ultra-smooth linear feel
There are some practical uses. You can make the third key a delete button, which will force all writers to use this device to edit their articles. Our articles will be much more concise and polished. You can also imagine mapping the keys to increase and decrease brightness (a setting that is difficult to adjust on some computers) or to end a Zoom conversation.
Imagine how cool it would look to have this on board a plane. Is it possible to put a price tag on gadget-savvy style?
These macropads aren't a new idea, though three keys is quite a few. They are available on Etsy and you can find one that is literally an Escape key.
This one is not only unique in preprogramming but also looks very well-made. It's equipped with Kailh Box Black Switches which Drop claims will provide an extremely smooth linear feel. I also see a USB-C connector at the back and feet to prevent it from sliding.
You can feel a little better about yourself when you buy it. Stack Overflow will donate all proceeds to digitalundivided. Drop will contribute five percent.
What are you waiting? My friends, copy and paste.
