Any games that players miss because of executive orders in New York or San Francisco regarding vaccinations will not be compensated.
Mike Bass, the NBA executive vice president of communications, stated Wednesday that players who do not comply with local vaccination mandates will not receive compensation for games they miss.
In recent weeks, both cities passed executive orders that could have an impact on the Brooklyn Nets or Golden State Warriors. New York's Barclays Center is subject to this order. It requires one COVID-19 shot. A person must have all of their vaccines in order to be allowed into the Chase Center in San Francisco.
Nets star Kyrie, who was absent from Monday's team media day at Barclays Center due to the New York order that went into effect earlier in the month, was Kyrie Irving. Andrew Wiggins, the Warriors' media representative, stated that his vaccination status was "private", ahead of the order being in effect next month.
Executive orders that govern the vaccine are only applicable to players in those markets. Players outside of these markets are exempt from the regulations.
According to the New York Knicks, all members of their team, including players, are fully vaccinated according to New York City law.
