Elon Musk has stepped up his criticisms of President Joe Biden and claimed bias against Tesla.
Kara Swisher, a journalist, asked Elon Musk why he had made fun of the president earlier in September in a tweet. Musk joked in the tweet that Biden couldn't congratulate SpaceX's Inspiration4 crew of all-civil astronauts because he was "still asleep", evoking ex-President Donald Trump's nickname, "Sleepy Joe"
Musk said to Swisher that he didn't think the Biden administration was "not friendliest." He referred to an event on electric vehicles (EVs) held at the White House in august, where Tesla wasn’t invited.
"Biden hosted this EV summit, but didn't invite Tesla. Invited GM and Ford, Chrysler, UAW [United Auto Workers Union]. A White House EV summit. Musk stated that he didn't mention Tesla and praised GM, Ford and other leaders in the EV revolution.
Musk stated that Biden was "a little biased or something...just not the friendliest administration."
Musk said, "Seems like it's controlled by unions."
Musk accuses Biden and his administration for being dependent on unions for the third time in this month.
Musk took to Twitter on September 12 his fury at a proposed bill that would give tax incentives of $4500 for electric vehicles made in unionized plants. Musk claimed that the bill was written by Ford and UAW, but he did not provide any evidence.
Tesla is a long-standing opponent to unionization. In March, the National Labor Relations Board ordered Musk to remove a tweet that was anti-union. In April, Tesla appealed the decision.
Musk approved a meme showing a scene in "Alien," where an alien parasite was clamped onto the victim's face. It was posted on September 19, the same date as his joke about Biden sleeping. The alien was labeled "UAW" while the victim was "Biden". Musk commented on the meme, saying "seems like that."
