Sterling Archer, his animated series' namesake, was not killed by a three-year-long coma. FXX just ordered an eighth-episode thirteenth season of Archer. It will air next year. The show will likely see the gang carry on top-secret spy missions and international intrigue.

The show has not yet revealed how it will handle the death of Jessica Walter, the cast member who plays Sterling Archers mother Malory. Variety reports that the topic will be discussed in the upcoming episodes of Season 12, which concludes October 6. H. Jon Benjamin (Sterling Archer), Aisha Taylor (Lana Kane), Judy Greer, Cheryl Tunt), Chris Parnell(Cyril Figgis), Amber Nash (“Pam Poovey”), Lucky Yates (“Dr. Krieger”) and Reed (Ray Gillette) are other cast members.
Archer airs Wednesday night on FXX. The episodes stream the next day on FX.com.
