Elon Musk doesn't like Jeff Bezos, a fellow billionaire, suing SpaceX to stop SpaceXs projects. He shared a message to Amazon founder on Tuesday at the 2021 Code Conference: You can't sue your way to get to the Moon no matter how well your lawyers are.
Musk answered a question by Kara Swisher, a journalist, about Blue Origin, Bezos' space company. She wanted to know how Blue Origin sued NASA to stop a contract NASA had given SpaceX to build a lunar lander. Amazon also protested SpaceX's Starlink internet satellites to the Federal Communications Commission.
Swisher asked Musk Tuesday whether he had spoken with Bezos regarding the legal battles. Musk replied that he did not speak verbally but only via subtweets. Musk tweeted in August: "It turns out Besos [sic] has retired to pursue a full time job filing lawsuits against SpaceX."
Musk was not all vinegar when it came to his billionaire space race co-pilots. Swisher asked Musk about the suborbital flight that Richard Branson and Bezos took recently with their companies. Musk replied that he thought it was cool to spend money on space advancement, but that suborbital was only a step towards orbit.
