They are a far superior choice than the WF-1000XM3 in this regard, and can therefore be considered an elite choice. Bose kept the sound profile neutral so the bass isn't too prominent, but the highs and mids are still rich and clear. The company has not yet included an equalizer in their app to adjust the sound. This makes it difficult for a pair earbuds to be in this price range. Bose designed these earbuds to be larger so all the tech inside can be incorporated. This will allow for relative comfort. They won't fit comfortably but their size will make them stick out more. The case is also significantly larger than other wireless earbuds. The battery life is good, with about five hours of battery life when ANC is turned on. The charging case will extend the battery's life by 18 hours. The company modified the fit to make it less restrictive and reduce audio leakage. There are two modes available: Quiet or Aware. Both use the onboard microphones to activate active noise cancellation ANC (ambient sound). If you want to use the QC45 as a headset for video or conference calls, then the onboard microphones can help improve your calls. You can use Aware mode to listen to your surroundings while you're wearing them outdoors. Bose's Music App allows you to personalize the headphones using some of the available features. Comfort is a key factor in the functionality of various features. These were designed by Bose to fit better. This makes features such as ANC and sound quality more effective. The headband and ear cups retain their soft cushioning and can be worn on the head or ears. They fold up quickly, just like their predecessors. They have a decent battery life, with up to 24 hours on one charge. Most notable improvement is the USB-C port which offers fast charging. Frames don’t have any bud and rely instead on tiny speakers that reside on the stem to project sound to your ears. The audio quality won't blow you away and there will be audio leakage, but these earbuds are great for people who have trouble with traditional earbuds. The Bose Frames are as comfortable as any pair of glasses if you don't have problems wearing glasses. The Frames sound great for what they are. Their design makes the bass very weak. The midrange is well balanced and the treble is quite recessed. The Frames are great for people who listen to podcasts or take a lot of calls. The battery life is good for a new product, at about 3.5 hours on one charge. Although it could be more, there is a limit to how much you can fit into the glasses' frames before they get too heavy. The Frames have a magnetic charging connector, rather than micro-USB and USB-C. This is because they are too deep. They might seem odd considering how widespread wireless earbuds have become, not to mention the fact that headphone jacks on mobile devices are disappearing, but there are a few reasons they are still available. These may be worth considering if you want a wired pair so that you don't need to charge your phone or have a phone with an audio jack. These headphones still sound great, despite Bose's improvements in audio quality over the years. The soundstage is fairly neutral. The bass depends on how close you can seal your ears. Mids and treble are well balanced. The ANC's battery pack is also a major factor in the sound. Although it adds weight and bulk to the whole thing, especially with the dangling cables, you still have the option of blocking outside noise. It can still be used to listen to music even if it is turned off. However, it can last up to 16 hours on a single charge. Although you get a nice case for your earbuds, you will need to charge it via micro-USB. If your phone doesn't have a 3.5mm jack, you won't receive an adapter for USBC. Bose created the Sport Open Earbuds to be a sporty pair of earbuds. These aren’t your usual earbuds. They don’t touch your inner ear, or ear canal. They simply attach to your ear and place the speaker near the canal to pump sound in. This allows ambient sound to enter while music plays, while you don't have to plug your ears. This is an acquired design that you may find other aspects of. The sound quality is excellent for the fit. However, you have to sacrifice some bass. You might want to think about this if you are into music that relies on good bass response before you buy these earbuds. The ear hooks are fixed so you must accept them as they are. Open concept allows you to hear all around you, so there is no ambient mode. You can't block outside noises with ANC support. Instead, buttons on the physical sidebar make it easy to skip or repeat tracks, play/pause, and skip/pause. Although the Bose Music app does offer some support, there is no equalizer that can adjust the sound or make customizations. Bose rates the battery life at eight hours, but you should expect to use them in louder environments, where you need to increase the volume. Bose did not separate the case and the charger. You can still use the case for transport, but the charger must be kept close by in order to have extra juice available when you need it. The sound quality is excellent.
