Harry Maguire: Manchester United captain out for 'few weeks' with calf injury

Harry Maguire started all Premier League matches for Manchester United this term

According to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United's captain Harry Maguire will be out for a few weeks due to a calf injury.

Maguire, 28 years old, will not be present for Wednesday's Champions League match with Villarreal. He is also likely to miss England’s World Cup qualifiers against Andorra in October.

Last Saturday, the defender was forced to leave United's Premier League defeat at Aston Villa.

"Harry is more-or-less out. It doesn't look very good," Solskjaer said.

It's his calf. It might take several weeks for him to recover. He was keen to play against Villarreal, as he had missed our last match against them in the Europa League final in May.

Maguire's injuries are so severe that it is unlikely that he will be included in Gareth Southgate's Three Lions squad announcement on Thursday.
