N'Golo Kante made four Premier League appearances this season for Chelsea, scoring one goal

N'Golo Kante, Chelsea's midfielder, has been confirmed positive for coronavirus. He will be absent from Wednesday's Champions League match with Juventus.

For ten days, the France international of 30 years will be isolated.

He will not be playing against Southampton in Saturday's Premier League and he is likely to miss France’s Nations League match with Belgium on October 7.

Thomas Tuchel, Blues boss, said that he didn't know how many of his players were vaccinated against Covid-19.

Tuchel stated that "We are a reflection society", and that the players are adults who have the freedom to choose their own fate," Tuchel said at a Tuesday news conference.

We should accept it. This is all I can offer. It is not over, but I am aware of the dangers. It makes it very clear that the situation is far from over.

Tuchel was asked whether players should set an example and get the vaccine. I'm not sure.

"It's a serious question. Vaccinations seem to be a good protection. I am vaccinated, but I don’t see myself in a position to make recommendations."

Reece James and Christian Pulisic will not be with Chelsea against Juventus.

Defender James was injured in the ankle in Manchester City's match on Saturday. Mount and Pulisic were both left with more serious injuries.
