While gadgets are great, Lance should be on the field to play the game. Fans want Lance to get out there and kick the ball around in ways Garoppolo cannot even imagine.
Shanahan could feel that Lance was ready for the role of starting QB, and he would be more active than he has been. Lance will be dethroning Jimmy G sometime in the season, but it could be closer to midseason, if at all.

While the Niners lost a heartbreaker at home to the Packers on Sunday night, Garoppolo played a solid game. Jimmy G passed for 257 yard, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, and completed 62.5 per cent of his attempts. These aren't terrible numbers, but they don't wow you.
Fans of the Niners are ready to be amazed again.
Garoppolos's underwear and lack of flair on-the field has made Garoppolos boring for the Niners fan base. The fans will be more hungry for Lance than Jimmy G-Q after losing the Green Bay game in such a fashion.

Instant gratification is the new norm, and Niners fans are eager to get what they want. Coach Shanahan is telling his fans what's best for them by his actions, as they won't be able to figure it out.

Shanahan believes Lance is ready for the job, and will send Garoppolo off to the sideline in order to keep the iPad. We should not forget that Lance played only one game in his 2020 college season. It's been several years since Lance has seen consistent action and he is nowhere near the level that North Dakota State offers in terms of NFL competition.

Fans of the R-E-L–A-X Niners, you will get your Trey soon. Shanahan may be slowing down the rookie, but it's for a reason. Lance will be the starter when the time is right. You can rest assured that Lance will be ready to go when the time is right. The kid can learn a lot from you before he is thrown at the NFL wolves. Lance should sit longer to learn, which will be better for him in the end.
