PSG: Mauricio Pochettino plays down Kylian Mbappe-Neymar dispute

According to reports, Kylian Mbappe was annoyed that Neymar didn't pass him the ball Saturday
Mauricio Pochettino, Paris St-Germain boss, has played down any disagreement between Kylian Mbappe or Neymar.

Mbappe was seen complaining to a benchmate that "he doesn’t give me the pass", apparently about Neymar after he was replaced in Saturday's victory over Montpellier.

They are great guys. These are the things that happen," stated Pochettino.

There are always things that can be done between the top players. They are rivals who want to win and help the group achieve greatness.

PSG hosts Manchester City in Tuesday's Champions League.

Since joining PSG in 2017, Neymar (29 years old) and Mbappe (22.22) have been working well together. These two are the highest transfer fees ever.

Mbappe has scored 136 goals for PSG in 180 games, while Neymar (who has suffered from frequent injuries) has hit 88 in 121.

He said, "I have spoken with them individually." "They might have spoken to one another and there have been photos taken of them having fun in training.

"If there's a small incident, sometimes it can create waves but it is really just talk."

Pochettino claims that it will take some time for Neymar and Mbappe to find their groove, while new signing Lionel Messi is still waiting.

Messi, who was accompanied by Neymar at Barcelona in Barcelona, failed to score in three of his first three games after joining as a free transfer.

Pochettino said, "Ofcourse they need to work together." They need to be able to work in different environments, and to form new connections than they did when they were in different clubs.

"Officially they are all different. It may take time to get to know one another and begin to play naturally, because PSG is always under pressure."

Pochettino said that his fellow Argentine Messi would need to adjust to France. For the first time in his professional life, the 34-year old is playing for another club than Barcelona.

Pochettino stated, "We are talking to the best player of the world."

"You must understand that he's a man just like you that has to adjust to the new club. The family also needs to adapt in order to fit into the new society.

"Let people work. Let the player adapt. Then, the player will feel at home. He lived in Barcelona for twenty years. He feels at home in Barcelona, which is not unusual.

"Now, everything is new. He was only a few days old when he arrived. He is now getting to know his teammates and is certain to succeed. I wish he does well for the club. We are hoping for that.
