After calling Arizona for Joe Biden last year, Fox News' former editor left the network. He spoke out about the controversial Cyber Ninjas audit of the state's votes.
Jim Acosta, CNN's "Newsroom", asked Chris Stirewalt, former Fox News Digital Politics Editor, about the recount of votes for Arizona's Maricopa County.
Donald Trump's supporters had hyped the audit, claiming it would reveal evidence of a plot against Trump.
However, the results of the survey, which were released last week, showed that Biden had won the state by a slightly larger margin than the official count.
Stirewalt claimed that he was involved in Fox News' decision to call Arizona home for Joe Biden before any other news, which cost him his job.
Fox News refuted his story, claiming he was fired as part of a restructuring plan.
Acosta asked Stirewalt on Sunday if he felt vindicated after the audit's results. He replied that he did not.
Stirewalt said, "The very act of it is the worst thing," regardless of the outcome.
"The purpose of these is to undermine trust. Stirewalt stated that it's not what the finding actually is. "So I don't take satisfaction or pleasure in seeing an outcome that is roughly comparable to the real results." They are doing their harm anyway."
Trump's White House was stunned by the Arizona call. Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of the president, was deployed to lobby the network for its return. Biden became the first Democrat to win the state in decades.

Trump and his allies continue to be fixated on the Arizona loss. The state's Republican-controlled Senate commissioned Cyber Ninjas to conduct an audit of votes after the former president spent months stirring conspiracy theories that the election had been tainted by mass fraud.
After eight months of delays and accusations of partisan bias, the audit concluded last week that Biden had won the state. This was in accordance with the official results.
Stirewalt wrote in an article for Los Angeles Times that he was the victim of murderous rage over the Arizona call. Other outlets, including Insider, also reported on the matter in the days following. Official vote counts confirmed it.
Stirewalt continued to show his sympathy for those who were deceived by conspiracy theories about election fraud and stated that he had "only disdain" for those who still promote these ideas.
Stirewalt stated that the goal is to reduce voter confidence. "Unfortunately, members from both parties have a tendency to do that these days. However, we are directly attacking the legitimacy of our elections. This is a serious problem that you can't solve, Republican Party.
