Green Bay Packers stars Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams stun San Francisco 49ers with 37-second, game-winning drive

With only 37 seconds remaining in the game, the 49ers have a lead, but Aaron Rodgers throws two crucial passes to Davante Adams. Mason Crosby then drills the game-winning field goal. (1:50).
SANTA CLARA (Calif.) -- The Green Bay Packers made a second comeback.

Aaron Rodgers would have been able to break the San Francisco 49ers hearts without Davante Adams' quick recovery from a hit on the chest. Rodgers will be the best receiver, and Rodgers will have 37 seconds to go. Even without one timeout, Rodgers will still have the chance to win the game.

This is exactly what Rodgers Adams, Mason Crosby and Mason Crosby did Sunday night at Levi's Stadium. Crosby's 51 yard field goal was scored by Crosby as the clock expired.

Kyle Shanahan, 49ers coach, said that "Yeah you always worry about Aaron on the other,"

Particularly if Rodgers has Adams. After 49ers safety Jimmie Ward put out Adams with 7 minutes remaining in the contest, that seemed questionable. He spent several minutes on ground and, while it seemed like he had taken a blow to the head, he stated that he couldn’t catch his breath.

Adams was back just one play later. Adams replied, "I'm different."

He was still Adams though, with 12 catches totalling 132 yards and one touchdown. Rodgers needed him after Jimmy Garappolo's touchdown pass of 12-yards to Kyle Juszczyk by the 49ers with 37 seconds remaining. This was how their lead lasted. Rodgers was asked how long it took for him to make a comeback. He replied, "Thirty seven [seconds]".

Matt LaFleur believed he could have done it with less. The Packers coach stated, "Thirty five seconds." "Maybe 34."

Rodgers hit Adams 25 yards with a play that, although it was not drawn in the dirt, had been created in practice three days prior. With 16 seconds remaining, the Packers were at midfield and Rodgers made a spike and an incomplete. Adams was thrown again for 17 yards, and Rodgers ran to the 33 yard line to spike it once more. He pumped his right hand when he completed the throw with three seconds remaining.

Rodgers stated, "I don’t know [if] that sealed it." We still had a 51 yard field goal but Mace, my old partner, was able to nail that. He has made many big kicks throughout the years.

Crosby's field goal was his third of the night, and his 22nd consecutive since last season. According to Elias Sports Bureau research, it was the third-latest drive that won a game, including playoffs.

Rodgers has now thrown six touchdowns in the last two weeks, despite the disappointing loss to the New Orleans Saints. Rodgers was playing with Yosh Nijman (a third-string left tackle) who had only 14 NFL snaps prior to Sunday night. Rodgers was sacked once. He completed 23 of 33 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns.

Adams posted his 25th career-high 100-yard game.

Adams was a "just what a competitor man," LaFleur stated. He is the ultimate competitor, having two huge catches in the last two minutes of the drive. He is the best receiver in National Football League and he does it every week.

Shanahan said that he was worried that Rodgers would be left with too many time after an icy postgame handshake. With 12 seconds remaining on the clock, the 49ers took the ball and could have shortened the game clock further.

Shanahan stated that they were trying to knock it down, but it was difficult for Juice to get in.

Shanahan stated that he was not trying to stay too long in the middle field and that he was just pissed about the game. Last week, LaFleur maintained that his relationship to Shanahan, his mentor and former boss, was good and that the handshake had nothing whatsoever to do with it.

LaFleur stated, "That's an awful moment for anyone to be in, but I'm sure that he was annoyed that we were able take the ball down to kick a field goal to win this football game." "We have a lot of history together so I don't want anything to stop our friendship."
