Michigan's pulmonologist shared stories of interactions with eight patients suffering from COVID-19, while the doctors ignored the facts in a Facebook post.

Friday's news brought to you by Dr. Matthew Trunsky. He is the director of the Palliative Care Unit at Beaumont Health network Troy hospital. Six of those eight patients had died since then.

Trunsky posted on September 11, 2011 that some patients had denied the virus and requested unproven, unapproved treatments such as hydroxychloroquine or ivermectin. He even stated: "I'd prefer to die than get the vaccine."

Trunsky wrote, "This is not to forget the anger people have towards physicians [and] nurses who are really trying our best and who provide exceptional care." They should have been vaccinated, but they weren't and they are now angry at the medical profession for failing to do so. The number of cases is on the rise. Get your vaccine."

Trunsky stated to the Post that he believes 90% of patients he sees are not vaccinated. Trunsky said that he and his fellow healthcare workers are exhausted and saddened at the number of COVID-19-related deaths in the period of the pandemic.

We are all physically exhausted, including me, and emotionally exhausted. Trunsky stated to the Post that she doesn't believe a week passes without seeing someone die.

CNBC reported that several studies have shown that between 20% and 30% of healthcare workers consider quitting the profession due to burnout.

Trunsky stated that while December's rollout of COVID-19 vaccinations gave him hope, the situation changed as the Delta variant spread, and the number of cases rose again, mainly among the unvaccinated.

According to him, while some patients who have not been vaccinated regret it, others remain firm in their decision, even at their final resting place.

According to data from Centers for Disease and Prevention, only 55.3% have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 so far.

While 64.3% have had at least one shot, the number of eligible Americans who haven't been vaccinated is still high.

Trunsky stated to the Post that "They are paying for the price" and was mad at them.

Trunsky's other patients are still in critical condition.
