Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa placed on injured reserve with fractured ribs, source says

LAS VEGAS -- The Miami Dolphins placed quarterback TuaTagovailoa on injured reserve. A league source confirmed this to ESPN on Saturday. This will keep him out of the team's next three games.
Tagovailoa broke his ribs during Miami's loss against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2. He was previously ruled out from this week's match against the Las Vegas Raiders. He will not be able to return to the field until Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, which will be held in London.

He will also miss games against Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts.

Jacoby Brissett has been selected as Miami's starting quarterback, with Reid Sinnett supporting him. In his 32-game NFL career, Brissett started 30 games for the Colts in 2017, and 2019.

Brissett is currently in his first season as a Dolphins player and has been praised by his teammates for his leadership skills and his experience.

Albert Wilson, wide receiver, said that he has the same confidence in him as he does with Tua. We don't feel we have taken a backward step with him. We are excited to take on this challenge and move forward to better things.

NFL Network reported first that Tagovailoa would be put on injured reserve.
