Microsoft today released Windows 11's final version to its Release Preview channel, after months of testing. This is the last step before Windows 11 is released to all devices. You don't have to wait for October 5th to get your free Windows 11 upgrade. Instead, you can jump to the Windows 10 Release Preview today.
Here's how to upgrade Windows 11 quickly:
Use Microsoft's PC Health app (download here) to check if your PC supports Windows 11.
To get the Windows 11 upgrade, register at Microsofts Windows Insider site if your computer is supported.
Go to Settings > Update and Security > Windows Insider Program on your Windows 10 PC.
Click the Get Started button to link the Microsoft account that you signed up for to become a Windows Insider.
When asked to select your Insider settings you will choose the Release Preview ring.
Accept and confirm the Microsoft terms and reboot your computer.
You will see the new banner with the Windows 11 update.
To get Windows 11 quickly, click the download and installation option. Follow the prompts.
After you have successfully upgraded to Windows 11 you can go to Settings > Windows Update, select Stop receiving preview builds and then click Continue to the final version.
Microsoft also has ISO files available for Windows 11 build 22000.194. The ISO file can be downloaded from Microsoft's Windows Insider site. It will allow you clean install Windows 11.
