Here are the voices of Super Mario Bros. Movie:

Chris Pratt is Mario

Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach

Charlie Day as Luigi

Jack Black is Bowser

Toad by Keegan-Michael Key

Seth Rogen is Donkey Kong

Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong

Kevin Michael Richardson is Kamek

Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike

The surprise cameos of Charles Martinet (voice of Mario in the video games) were also unexpected.

This isn't a joke. It's true.

If this were a movie, the voice cast would be incredible. The Super Mario Bros. characters and games have been an integral part of popular culture for over 40 years. Although the characters don't talk much, they sound a lot like Star-Lord and Kung Fu Panda. We know what happened. They don't sound like Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo. We assume that these characters will be more like the ones from the games than the 1993 live-action film.

Word of the Illumination Super Mario Bros. film hit back in 2017 and development/production has been moving ahead ever since. Chris Meledandri is the founder and CEO at Illumination. He is also known for creating Mario and the Despicable Me movies. While we don't know much, the voice cast gives a hint at what to expect from the movie. You know all the characters, there is a bit of history with Donkey Kong and Bowser, and there are many things going on with Bowser, his minions, and that's pretty much everything you would expect from a Mario movie. If you can overlook the cast.

Super Mario Bros. directed by Aaron Horvath, Michael Jelenic and written by Matthew Fogelhits theaters Christmas next year and here's the teaser poster. We want to hear your opinions.
