Urban Meyer is still learning in the NFL.

Meyer, a successful college coach over two decades had never been to the NFL as a coach before he was hired by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The team is now 0-2, just months into his tenure. Much of the attention has been placed on his mistakes, adaptability struggles, and future in NFL.

Meyer acknowledged Wednesday that it was "really difficult" to transition from college into the NFL.

According to John Reid, Florida Times-Union, Meyer stated, "I'm working. We're all working through this." "Of course it's not the same in college, I get it, but I'm trying to make them both equal. It was hard.

On Wednesday, Vic Fangio, Denver Broncos' head coach, told reporters that Meyer had told him that playing the NFL was like playing Alabama every week after the Broncos defeated the Jaguars in Week 2.

Andrew Siciliano, NFL Network, confirmed that the exchange took place.

Although Meyer's admission appeared innocent enough, many were still shocked by Meyer's ineptness.

Pat McAfee, a former NFL kicker, stated on his show that Meyer is now learning that the NFL is "a completely different animal" from college football.

Meyer's abilities to manage an NFL locker room have been questioned.

CBS's Jason La Canfora reported that there was tension in the Jaguars' locker rooms over Meyer's outbursts.

La Canfora was told by a source that "he becomes unhinged too easily and he doesn’t know how to deal with losing, even during the preseason." He loses it and wants the control of the drills. It's not a good idea.

La Canfora reported Meyer's difficulty adapting to the NFL schedule, and that Meyer was unable to get plans prepared on time.

Dre'Mont Jones is a Broncos defensive lineman who played at Ohio State for Meyer and told reporters that Meyer must change his ways in order to adapt to the NFL.

According to Michael David Smith, Pro Football Talk, Jones stated that "Going from college into pros is always difficult, regardless of what level it is, whether coaching, or playing." "Especially since a lot his philosophies were college-based. You can't do this with 30-plus men, or even 25+ men who are familiar with the league and know their stuff. It's important to change the way you coach.

Jones stated that he was not surprised by the reports that Meyer's style had offended some, but he did not specify why.

Meyer's NFL career began with some turmoil when he invited Tim Tebow to Jaguars Training Camp to play tight end despite the fact Tebow having never played that position before and not playing in the NFL for many years. Unfortunately, Tebow was not cut during training camp.

Meyer is already refuting reports that he might be interested in the University of Southern California head coaching job. Clay Helton was fired after only two games.

Meyer stated to reporters, "I'm here and determined to trying to create this organization."

Meyer faces a difficult task in trying to turn around a team which went 1-15 last year. Although he has Trevor Lawrence, a star rookie quarterback, as a foundation block, even Lawrence has experienced some bumps in his two first NFL starts. He threw 5 interceptions and 4 touchdowns.

Meyer and the Jaguars are determined to end an 18-game losing streak that began in September last year against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3.
