PHILADELPHIA -- Nick Sirianni doesn't ease his way into his first match against the rival Dallas Cowboys.

To his news conference on Thursday, the Philadelphia Eagles coach wore a "Beat Dallas” shirt. This is a refrain that he has heard from fans more than any other since assuming his role as head coach in January.

He said, "I love that I can participate in this rivalry. It means a lot for the city, our team; it means much to this building."

"I will be wearing this all week. It's mine, and my kids have it. My wife also has one. They'll be ours."

They are not the only ones who support this NFC East rivalry. Right tackle Lane Johnson stated that the entire team received shirts. Johnson said that Sirianni showed a video Wednesday morning, which highlighted the history between the franchises.

Sirianni stated that of all the NFL rivalries he has seen, this one reminded him most of a college football rivalry. Even if Dallas is wearing the T-shirt, Sirianni is comfortable accepting it.

"Yeah, I think they will have the shirt picture on there. He said that was fine. "With the rivalry, it being a division match, I don’t know if anyone -- their side or our side -- needs more bulletin board material. We know how important the rivalry is to both sides.

Ezekiel Elliott was wearing "VICTORY" sweatshirts, even though there were no "Beat Philly” shirts available in Dallas.

It means a lot. Elliott stated that he meant "definitely probably our greatest rival", especially considering how long he's been here. "Probably the team that I dislike the most. Philly week is always a lot of fun. AT&T will be electric Monday night, I'm sure. We're ready to go, I believe."

Would Elliott love to see Mike McCarthy, his coach, wearing a T-shirt with the words "Beat Philly"?

He said, "Nah. We stay in our lane."

Trevon Diggs, Cowboys cornerback, also gave his opinion about Sirianni's attire for the news conference.

"Nothing is real. I don't pay much attention to external factors. Diggs stated that she focuses on what is important to her and doesn't care about outside factors.

The Cowboys take on the Eagles Monday Night Football on ESPN at 8 PM EST.
