Google believes in the practical aspects of augmented reality. The collection of Google 3D objects and animals has grown over the past few years. It includes both land and underwater animals, as well as birds and house pets. A growing collection is also available that focuses on human anatomy and the inner biology of our cells and organs, as well as planets and other objects within our solar system. It's amazing! How can you get to Google's 3D Animals and Objects page? Google's 3D Animals are easy to find. Search for the supported animal using a smartphone or tablet. (D Animals won’t appear on a laptop or desktop computer). If the animal is supported, you will see a Google Search Knowledge Panel that looks similar to what would appear for celebrities or movies. This is how it works: First, open Google Search on your smartphone. For this example, we'll use "cat" as the 3D animal/object to search for. Click the View in 3D button. This page gives you the ability to view the 3D object in 3D. You can also resize it and move it. You can view the object in your own space by clicking on the View in my space button (we'll get into more detail about that later).
What is the best way to use Google's 3D Animals and Objects?
You'll first see an animated 3D Animal/Object against a white background when you open it. To zoom in and out, you can drag your finger across the animal. It will move sideways, up, down, and rotate 360 degrees. This allows you to examine every inch from the underside to the back. Zoom in by moving your fingers out, and zoom out by pinching the two together. To share the 3D object via your favorite app (e.g. Instagram, Twitter, or regular text), you can tap on the share icon at the bottom-right. Google will generate a link to the 3D object so that people can tap on it immediately. How can you use Google's 3D Animals and Objects AR? Source: Joe Maring/Android Central Move your phone around the room in the AR view to map and process the surroundings. You will see the animal blend in with your surroundings. It may take some time to get it working, so be patient. Once it is successful, the animal will be placed on your floor. Tap View in your space when viewing a 3D object/animal in Object view. Tap Allow access. Tap Allow at all times. Tap Allow. The 3D object/animal will appear in front of your eyes. You can move your phone around to view it from different angles. To see the tail and backside of a French bulldog, you can rotate the object/animal with one finger. Although you don't have the same 360-degree view as in Object view to see things like the top or underside of a duck, you can still turn the animal so that it faces different directions. The animals can also do their own things if you keep the phone still (like wag its tail, hop, or sniff). For example, a tiger will open its mouth and roar while a snake will examine its surroundings.
You can also zoom in and pinch an object or animal to resize it using this AR mode. To give you an idea of how it looks in real life, it will default at 100%. Android devices have an object blending feature that allows animals to blend in with the real world. This feature will allow 3D objects to sense their surroundings and adapt to the environment. This is a great way to make it appear like a snake is hiding behind a couch. It also makes it more realistic by displaying only those parts of the reptile that would be visible if the creature were real. It is easy to use object mixing. You'll find a small circle icon at the top-right of AR view. It has one shaded half and one clear half. To toggle object blending on or off, simply tap this icon. To make it work, you must get close to the animal. It takes a few seconds for your image to fade out and blend in. Once it is set, you can snap photos to share with family and friends. Google's 3D Animals are compatible with many devices, including Android smartphones and tablets as well as iOS tablets and smartphones. It must have Android 7.0 or higher and the Google Play Store preinstalled. iOS 11.0 or greater is required for iPads and iPhones. Google 3D Animals can be used on the Samsung Galaxy S8, S9 and S10, S20, Note 8 and 9, as well as any Google Pixel phone. It will also work with select Android devices such as the LG, Motorola and OnePlus phones, Oppo, Xiaomi, Sony and other Android devices. If the iOS is up to date, all iPhones including the iPhone 6S, 7 and 8 as well as most iPads will display Google 3D Animals. The Google Play Services for AR app is installed on most devices. This means that they will be able to support the full Google 3D Animals experience. Google 3D Animals come with accompanying sounds that I was able to hear on both Android and Apple devices. The alligator's grumbling and the roaring of the tiger are as terrifying as they sound in real life. It gives off the impression that the Ball python is about to strike. There are also some adorable ones like the cute barking and whining of a golden retriever, Welsh Corgi, or horse. Even animals such as the rabbit can be audio-enabled with quiet sounds like the rabbit's crinkling or sniffing sound while it searches for food and looks around. The sound of water can be heard as the angler fish swims across the screen. This animal is also relatively quiet.
