Google’s updated iOS 15 apps support Focus Mode and iPad widgets

Developers of all sizes have begun updating their apps to take full advantage of iOS 15, which is now available for download. Google is one of them, and it has today detailed the iOS 15-related enhancements that you can expect from its apps.
Gmail, Tasks and Google Home will now handle notifications in a different way than before. If iOS 15's Focus Mode is enabled, Google states that prompts that don't require immediate attention will be sent to the Notifications Center so you can respond later. You'll receive more timely reminders like those sent by Google Maps when you try to navigate somewhere. Google claims that its goal is to make notifications relevant and timely. These will be rolling out to company apps over the next few weeks.

You can also look forward to the new Google Photos widgets and YouTube Music widgets if your iPad has an extra screen. These widgets will be available in the next few weeks, according to the company. Google Drive and YouTube Music now have Spotlight integrations. The tool can be used to search for files or to play a song in Google's music streaming service. These enhancements are now available, but you'll likely wish that more apps could use Spotlight to do this.
