CNN's "New Day," the daughter of an unvaccinated male who died from COVID-19, reported Monday that Tucker Carlson, Fox News's host, and misinformation played a part in her father’s vaccine hesitancy.

Evan and Katie Lane talked to "New Day," about Patrick Lane, their father, who died recently from the virus.

He wasn't far-right. Katie Lane stated that he was in the middle and consumed media from both sides. "Just a little bit of misinformation on one side made him hesitant." He was planning to wait for FDA approval. But by the time Pfizer was approved, it was too late.

Later, Anchor John Berman said that Katie Lane said that "one media source in particular" had influenced her father's vaccination hesitancy. He asked her for clarification.

She said that Tucker Carlson videos were watched by her on YouTube. Some of the videos contained misinformation about vaccines.

Both Katie and Evan have been vaccinated. Katie stated that Evan's father told her that he "wishes he had been vaccinated" when he called to say goodbye.

She said that "His last words to my stepmom during a Facetime call were that he wished he was vaccinated."

Carlson is a right-wing commentator who is also the most watched cable news host in the country. He has been spreading false and misleading information about COVID-19 vaccines for months and has refused to disclose whether he has been vaccinated.

He repeatedly suggested that the COVID-10 vaccinations "don’t work", hosted guests to question faith in vaccines, and called the door-to-door vaccination efforts of the Biden administration "the biggest scandal in my life."

Carlson also opposed college students being given COVID-19 vaccines, and strongly condemned vaccine mandates as well as passports. Other Fox hosts have promoted misinformation and vaccine skepticism.

Fox's role is especially dangerous because it promotes false and misleading information regarding vaccines. Its audience is older and is at greater risk of serious illness or death from COVID-19.

Fox News spokesperson declined to comment for this story.
