U.S. to lift foreign travel restrictions for vaccinated travelers

WASHINGTON (AP), -- Beginning in November, President Joe Biden will relax foreign travel restrictions to the United States. His administration will require that all foreign nationals entering the country be fully vaccinated.
The new policy was announced by Jeff Zients (White House Covid-19 coordinator), Monday. All foreign travellers flying to the U.S. must show proof of vaccination prior to boarding and a negative Covid-19 test within three days.

Biden will also tighten the testing requirements for Americans who have not been vaccinated. They will be required to test within one day of their departure from the U.S. and on their return.

Zients stated that quarantine will not be necessary for fully vaccinated passengers.

This policy replaces a series of travel restrictions that President Donald Trump first instituted last year. These travel restrictions were tightened by Biden and restricted non-citizens' travel to the U.K. and European Union, China and India.

Zients stated that Biden will require international travelers to provide contact information to enable contact tracing.
