Google has improved Android a lot in the last few years, but it's still too easy to ruin a phone

Android has been my favorite operating system since its inception. I have used it every version of Android, even the difficult process of rooting and installing ROMs. Android has made great strides since the original Motorola Droid in 2009. Despite all its advancements, it's still a challenge to repair an Android phone or assist someone with seemingly trivial tasks. These everyday occurrences show both the great openness and weaknesses of Android. Smartphones that are unable to access certain apps properly can cause a slowdown in the phone. This is as true for modern flagships as it is for underpowered devices. Google has been hard at work to improve the safety and accessibility of its operating system. There was a time when Android was not as secure as it should be, but that was long ago and people still talk about it as if it were still an issue. It's possible for someone to accidentally damage their device by downloading an app they don't know about. It is unclear to me why more than 250 apps are available on the Play Store for searching for casino and slot games. There are many more, but that's not the point. Nearly everyone who asks me why their phone is so slow has at least one of these applications installed.

After digging into the phone to find the problem, I'll generally check the allocation of resources. To see if it helps, I delete the cache after I locate the problem app (like my grandfather's gambling application). Nearly every time the phone responds better, it's because the app that was misbehaving took up nearly a gigabyte of storage. This should not be allowed. Google must fix this problem by making sure developers build their apps correctly to avoid such problems. A AAA gaming title is capable of not causing damage to a phone. It can. It can. Not only does the app consume valuable resources, but intrusive ads as well. To be clear, this is not just a problem with casino games. Many apps are full of ads. Many times, these ads take players away from the game to download another app or automatically download more software. Multiple times, I have had to show people suspicious apps and they don't always know how they got onto their phones. Even the most well-built Android phones can be affected by poorly designed apps and those that are deliberately doing nefarious or malicious things. Google needs to be more clear with developers and enforce those guidelines. A phone should be able play the most difficult games without being damaged. However, too many times it can ruin the user experience and cause damage to the phone. It's more than just apps.

Android requires assistance in other areas than stricter app policies. Android could use some assistance in ease-of-use. It's not that Android is difficult to use, but I do think it is much easier than it was in the past. It used to feel like you needed to be a powerful user to use the phone. Now, however, the OS is far more user-friendly. However, this is not the case for everyone. My mom, bless her heart! She wants the phone to do everything it can. As I've seen, there have been many times when I've called or visited my mom to find out how she got her phone misplaced. Google can only do so much to protect its users from harm, but the expression "if you want an easy-to-use phone, get an Apple" continues to be repeated far too often. Many people still don't believe that Android is simple to use, and maybe they are right. My co-workers and I have to deal with the murkiness of how to accomplish seemingly simple tasks almost every day in our other job. Many of these people have iPhones, but my company switched from mobile apps to computer apps when it needed. The company deserves credit for the fact that it was able to go with any number cheap Android phones two years ago. We got Samsung Galaxy S10's and now we're getting Galaxy S21’s. Even with the best modern smartphones, which have a great UI, sharing files can be confusing. It was difficult to understand the confusion when I first started using Android. Android can seem overwhelming if you are used to iOS. It's been more than two years since I first used Android, and there are still many questions about how to use the phone. Google has a lot of work ahead of it, including questions about sharing images, setting up settings, printing, and other queries.
