Beckham, a right-handed player who draws in American football fans - sounds familiar?

Romeo Beckham was the son of David Beckham and made his American debut on Sunday for Fort Lauderdale's third-tier club.

The 19-year old played in the famous father's position of midfielder for Inter Miami, the Major League Soccer side owned and managed by Beckham. It was a draw of 2-2 at home with South Georgia Tormenta.

Romeo posted on Instagram, "Blessed that I made my pro debut tonight."

How did Beckham look during his first professional appearance as a footballer?

The youngster, who signed a contract in September with the club, displayed some great touches and gave the club an early chance.

He also worked well with Harvey Neville in the midfield, who is the son of Inter Miami head Coach Phil Neville. Neville graduated from Manchester United's Class '92 with Beckham senior.

Young Neville made his 16th appearance for Florida-based team after leaving Manchester United's academy in order to be with his father in the United States.

Beckham was replaced after 79 minutes. He stated that he was now "full concentration on the next match".

Both teens will be back on the field against Greenville Triumph on October 2.

Beckham senior made global headlines in 2007 when he switched to LA Galaxy from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

In 2011, and 2012, he won back-to-back MLS Cups. A statue was built in his honor outside La Galaxy's stadium in 2019, to commemorate his six-years with the club.
