Police said that a mother and her daughter were both charged with murder in relation to the death of a woman who received an illegal buttlift operation in Los Angeles.
Karissa Rajpaul (26), the victim, shared a video on social media of the operation. It took place in September 2020 at a private residence in Encino, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Rajpaul, a South African national who came to Los Angeles to work in the adult entertainment sector, had undergone three procedures. He died shortly after the third.
Police arrested and charged Libby Adame, her daughter, and Alicia Gomez with murder.

The LAPD is now concerned about more victims and encourages women to come forward.
Bob Dinlocker, a detective with the LAPD, stated to NBC4 that they found it was a common occurrence in this investigation. "The internet is full of horror stories about people cutting medical-grade silicone with the same stuff you'd use to caulk your windows."
He stated once that some of these chemicals, which are not meant for human use, hit the bloodstream and attack the heart, brain, kidneys, and liver.
LAPD warns women against these underground procedures that some people look for because they are cheaper than professional services.
According to NBC4, Adame and Gomez charged $3,500 to $4.500 for the buttlift, compared with $10,000 to $15,000 as a board-certified professional would.
