Update: Teton County Coroner reports that an unidentified body was found in Bridger-Teton National Forest, near the area where searchers are searching for missing traveler Gabby Peto. Fox News and many other news outlets also reported on it.
Original story:
Authorities say that an FBI search for Gabby Petito, a missing traveler, has been focused on Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. Meanwhile, police in Florida are searching for her boyfriend.
McClatchy News reported that Petito, 22, from New York and Brian Laundrie (23), had embarked on a cross-country journey in Petitos van.
After a fight, police in Moab, Utah, reached out to the couple on Aug. 12, but neither side filed charges.
McClatchy News reported that Laundrie returned home in a Petitos van on Sept. 1, ten day before Petitos family reported her missing. He refused to talk to investigators.
The FBI posted a series on Twitter Saturday stating that it is searching for Petito in Grand Teton National Park. It will be focusing on Spread Creek Dispersed Camp Area.
These posts request that anyone who might have seen Petito and Laundrie in the area between Aug. 27-August 30, contact the agency at 1-800-CALL–FBI or 303-629-7172.
WTVT reported that police in Florida are currently searching for Laundrie's 25,000-acre swamp after his family claimed he didn't return from Tuesday's hike.
According to the station, the family notified police that Laundrie had not returned from Carlton Reserve on Friday night. Police have identified him as a person of concern in the case.
Police from North Port searched the swamp on Saturday, but did not find anything. A Twitter post stated that police resumed their search Sunday.
WTVT was told by Josh Taylor, a department public information officer, that you could stay here for many months if needed.
Gabby's family wants the world to know that Brian has not disappeared, but is hiding. CNN reported that Gabby has gone missing.
