Tottenham Hotspur 0-3 Chelsea: Thomas Tuchel's side win London derby to extend unbeaten run

Chelsea has won the last three Premier League away matches against Tottenham

Chelsea extended their unbeaten Premier League streak to five games with a win by Thomas Tuchel's team.

After not being able to score in the first half, the visitors appeared to be a completely different team and scored three goals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the second half.

Four minutes after the restart, the Blues scored when Thiago Silva shot past Hugo Lloris in Marcos Alonso’s corner.

N'Golo Kante, a half-time substitute, added another goal with his first goal in 49 league games. Eric Dier was unable to stop his long-range effort.

Antonio Rudiger won the victory by finding the bottom corner in injury-time.

Spurs began the game brightly, and they were the better side for the first half. Nuno Espirito Santo's team managed only two shots on target and struggled to respond after falling behind.

Silva, Rudiger and Romelu Lukaku all got close to the Blues' goal. However, Lloris made several saves to keep them out.

Chelsea is one of three Premier League teams that have yet to lose this season, alongside Liverpool and Manchester United.

This victory elevates the Blues to joint first place in the table with Jurgen Klopp's team.

Jimmy Greaves, who was a former player for both clubs, was remembered before the game. He died at the age of 81.

A tale of two halves

Thomas Tuchel stated in his post-match interview that his team's performance in the first half was "absolutely unacceptable". And what he said at half time clearly worked.

Mason Mount was Chelsea's best chance for the first 45 minutes. He ran the length the pitch after winning ball in his half. However, the England midfielder missed his shot from six yards after playing a one two with Lukaku.

Chelsea's second-half dominance was triggered by Mount's withdrawal at the half-time.

After the break, Chelsea was undoubtedly the stronger team. Two minutes later, Silva's superb ball found Alonso. However, Hugo Lloris tipped Alonso's goalbound volley over.

Alonso returned the favor with his brilliant corner delivery, finding the Brazilian who was able to surpass Dele Alli and win the opener.

After Kante's long-range attempt took a huge deflection from Eric Dier, Tuchel's team had a firm hold on the game. It went in off the post 12 minutes later.

Chelsea versus Tottenham has been the Premier League's most successful team, scoring 10 shots.

Lloris was Spurs' most consistent player, keeping a respectable score. But he was ultimately beaten when substitute Werner picked Rudiger out of the box. This allowed Rudiger to drill the ball into bottom left corner.

Tuchel's side won comfortably without scoring any goals by his forwards, which is a pleasing sign.

The German stated that his team isn't performing at their best, a warning for teams who are expected to challenge for the title in May.

Spurs struggle to keep up with goalkeepers

Spurs have now suffered back-to-back defeats of 3-0 in their Premier League matches. They have only scored one goal from open play this season, after winning their first three Premier League games.

Spurs began the game with energy after a disappointing Europa Conference League draw against Rennes. They showed their attacking intent right from the start.

Nuno's side was buoyed by Son Heung-min's return, who had missed two games due to calf strain.

Spurs' first chances were centered around the South Korean player, and it was he that managed to score the goal in the first period.

Son won Alonso's match, but Son was stopped by Giovani Lo Celso. His shot was blocked when he collided to Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arizabalaga, who was not on his line.

Chelsea proved to be resilient and hard to break down. It was all one-way traffic after the break as Chelsea became more involved in the game, while Spurs looked tired and lethargic from being behind.

Harry Kane was quiet, had only two chances, and looked often lost on the pitch. This is the first time in four Premier League seasons that Harry Kane has failed to score.
