Adding to its conceptual D/MS/X offerings, Nike has presented a brand-new lifestyle silhouette dubbed the Ghoswift.
Arriving in a vibrant mix of red/blue/black green plus a Livestrong-esque black/grey/yellow, the Ghoswift bears some similarities in shape to the Air Ghost Racer - a lightweight Nike Running shoe that first released in 1998 and recently retroed. However, the Ghoswift is very much its own sneaker, one with a compelling backstory to boot.
Combining a run-ready feel with details inspired by London's edgy rave culture of the early '90s, the Ghoswift features a largely seamless upper with texture provided by semi-translucent colored taping on its forefoot, midfoot, and heel. This provides a contrast with its all-over grid print, an embellishment that digs even further into British rave culture by pulling its inspiration from old-school event fliers and posters. From a branding standpoint, a duo of scaled-down Swooshes hit the midfoot while D/MS/X text hits appear on the tongue and insole. A solid-yet-sleek rubber midsole completes the stylings.
The Nike Ghoswift is available now at Nike UK and other stockists. The MSRP is set at $100 USD.
In other footwear news, Nike recently tapped Nordstrom's Vice President of Creative Projects Olivia Kim for a "No Cover" collection inspired by '90s NYC street fashion.
