Fallon Sherrock becomes first woman to reach televised PDC final

Fallon Sherrock was the first woman to win a main draw match at the 2020 PDC World Championships.

Fallon Sherrock was the first woman to make it to a televised PDC final, but she lost to Michael van Gerwen, a three-time world champion at the Nordic Darts Masters.

Sherrock made an amazing comeback from 10-6 down, to defeat world number five Dimitri Van den Bergh 11-10 at the semi-final.

The Brit, who was 27 years old, led the way 6-3 in the final, but lost 11-7.

Sherrock stated on ITV4 that she was proud of herself, particularly for pushing Michael as hard as I did.

"I cannot even describe how I felt [when I was 6-3]" "I was shaking."

Van Gerwen's 16th win in the world series and his first title in ten months with the victory in Copenhagen are the results.

The Dutchman stated, "I have waited so many years for this win."

"Fallon played an amazing tournament. She played one of the most memorable finals of her career.

Van Gerwen, who was becoming increasingly emotional as the crowd sang his name, said: "I've been through a really difficult period and this means so many to me."

Sherrock was the first woman to win a main draw match at the 2020 PDC World Championships. Sherrock was defeated in the third round.
