WhatsApp and other encrypted messaging apps that allow end-to-end communication have had trouble stopping disinformation from spreading on their platforms. WhatsApp has set limits on how many messages can be sent to others in an effort to reduce fake news spreading. The messages are encrypted so there is no way to trace them.
