'Grease' actor Eddie Deezen arrested after Maryland restaurant fracas

Edward Deezen was the actor most famous for his role as geeky Eugene Felsnic, in the 1978 film "Grease." He was arrested in LaVale for resisting arrest. Deezen allegedly became disorderly at a Maryland restaurant and threw food at sheriff's officers.
Staff asked Deezen to leave LaVale restaurant. He refused, prompting the Allegany County Sheriff's Department to issue a statement.

Deezen was "yelling and disturbing other customers" and had to be removed, according to police, from the table/bench seat where he had been hiding out.

According to the news release from the sheriff's office, the actor "threw numerous items at deputies which included plates and bowls as well as food." One item reportedly struck a deputy.

Deezen was ultimately arrested and taken to a local jail for a hearing. He will be facing charges of second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and trespassing.

Deezen didn't immediately respond to a NBC News inquiry for comment.
