Everybody expects to be scared when they watch a horror film. It's quite different when you watch a comedy, fantasy or adventure movie. In a movie that isn't generally frightening, you don't expect to leap out of your chair or feel tensed. However, history has taught us that not all scares are the same and that's why we keep them.
Below is a list with our top scary scenes from horror movies. Non-thrillers are also acceptable. We disqualify movies that are designed to be frightening or threatening in large parts. We are left with scenes that were most likely to traumatize us as children simply because they weren't obvious.
